JOPLIN, Mo - With the heat continuing what should you be worried about as a car owner?

Over the past week an influx of car owners have had issues with their vehicles due to the heat. Mike's Auto Repair is one shop that has experienced this. According to Technician Rayson Johnson he worked on four cars with heat related issues today alone.

Many of these issues involve a person's compressor cooling fan or head gasket, all of which lead to bigger problems if not fixed immediately. Johnson mentioned that the heat takes its toll no matter what the vehicles make or model or even how new it is.

However, Johnson said that most cars over 150,000 miles were more susceptible to these types of problems.

Despite these inevitable issues according to Johnson there are steps car owners can take to decrease the wear and tear.

It is also important that car owners are checking their cars every time they exit. Do not leave children or animals unattended at any time and under no circumstances.
